BDC has been involved in running the Primary School Kwik Cricket Tournament since 1994.
The Bexley Primary Schools Kwik Cricket Tournament is an extremely successful element of the School Games, giving primary aged children the opportunity to play competitive softball cricket and represent their school. Before the existence of the School Games, BDC ran the tournament as a stand-alone competition. Now it is included as part of the School Games, and is one of the most popular events, with so many schools entering that there are several days of qualifying heats across the Borough in order to find the winner.
There is a girls-only tournament and a mixed tournament, encouraging gender equality and inclusivity in sport.
The winner of the Tournament goes on to represent Bexley at the next stage, the Kent Primary Schools Kwik Cricket Tournament and the runner-up goes on to represent Bexley at the London School Games Finals.
In 2017, Old Bexley Primary School represented Bexley at the county stage in both the girls and the mixed competition. Both teams won, making Old Bexley the 2017 County Champions in both competitions.
