Developing the Cricketers of Tomorrow

Bexley District Cricket (BDC) has been delivering cricket in the borough for almost 20 years!

With activities throughout the year for boys and girls aged 4-18 our full time professional coaches are also supplemented by over 20 or so part-time coaches all of whom also assist in their local junior section.

Coaches are England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Qualified. For all coaches it is mandatory to have a Criminal Records Bureau Check (DBS) and to attend two workshops: Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Emergency First Aid, which are all renewed every three years. In addition to our qualified coaches we are often assisted by young people wishing to gain experience become coaches in the future, many of whom complete their 'Young Leaders' qualification whilst working with us.

BDC is committed to 'Developing the Cricketers of Tomorrow' across all abilities. We operate alongside and on behalf of the cricket clubs in the borough, delivering the strategic vision of the Borough's Development Group (BDCDG). We endeavour to develop and honestly advise clubs and young people of their best route to achieve success. From our extensive experience we believe there is a role for everyone to play in the game.

Players that display sufficient talent and commitment to training may be selected by our coaches to represent the Bexley Bashers Area Representative Team. These are age group teams ranging from under 10 to under 14, as well as an under 12 girls only side. For older players (aged 15-18), there may also be an opportunity to train with and represent the Bexley Academy. Please see the relevant sections of the website for more information.
